Programs Overview

Developmental Soccer

The Club’s basic program for children aged 5 to 11 is the Developmental Soccer Program (DSP). It is designed to concentrate on skill development, with weekly practices and monthly games held in a Festival environment. We strive for a 3:1 ratio of practice time to game time. All fields are within the City of Ottawa . Most play is at the home field, excepting Festivals. Players are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If the local site is full, late applicants will normally be assigned to the next-closest site, unless there are unusual circumstances. learn more…

Youth Recreational

Created in 2001 to provide recreational soccer for youths aged 12 to 19. Designed for players either who are new to soccer, or who approach soccer as a secondary sport, or who may simply enjoy playing a game once a week. Teams will be formed once there are a sufficient number of players and tryouts are not required. Teams at the U13, U15 and U18 age levels play in the South Side Soccer League (SSSL). The SSSL includes teams from Nepean Hotspurs, Osgoode Rideau and South Nepean United Soccer Clubs. learn more…

Youth Competitive

This is highly competitive soccer for all youth ages, from U09 to U19. Players at this level are typically involved with soccer at least three days a week, enter four to six tournaments over the season (half of which are out of town) and commit to training year-round-outdoors and indoors. Teams start forming as early as March, normally following indoor camps, and training sessions, often in January, February and March. Final team selection is made after at least two (2) outdoor tryouts, usually in April or early May.learn more…

Adult

Adult recreational teams compete in the Ottawa-Carleton Soccer League (OCSL) which is under the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association (EODSA). The OCSL currently has four men’s and three women’s competitive divisions. Generally speaking, players in these divisions have played soccer at a highly competitive level for many years in clubs and possibly at university. Competition for spots on competitive teams is by tryout and commitment over the course of the season is high and often requires winter continuation. learn more…

Elite

The Club directs this program at players who wish to progress to college or university competition. It offers those players the opportunity to develop individually through an elite level training and playing experience which will condition them to what is normally expected of elite athletes. This program offers players an unique opportunity to augment their current soccer playing and competitive experience.

The program will culminate with participation at a tournament in the U.S.A. scheduled for late November. This is a Club event and Club players who meet the age requirements will be encouraged to participate. However, in order to be accepted and compete in a “show-case” tournament the assembled team must be of the highest calibre. To meet such competitive commitment the coaching staff may augment the competitive nature of the team by the use of guest players.
